The Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory (DUSEL), planned for construction in the former Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, SD, is in the preliminary design phase as a Major Research Experimental Facility Construction project of the National Science Foundation. An overview of the project scope for the facility and major physics experiments will be presented.
