High Energy Physics Analysis with Root Trees

Root is a powerful histogramming software package used for analysis by High Energy Physics Laboratories. Root Tree is a structure in Root used for storing and accessing large volume of data. I will report the work I have done so far, in the High Energy Physics group, with Root and the work we just began on identifying ALICE electrons using Root Tree functionalities.
L-Subshell X-ray Cross Sections of Elements 55 ≤ Z ≤ 60 -

X-ray cross sections are calculated using the method of x-ray fluorescence (XRF). The Lsubshells of elements 55 ≤ Z ≤ 60 are fluoresced using the radioactive source: Fe55 which emits x-rays at energies of 5.89 keV (kα) and 6.49 keV (kβ). The fluoresced xrays are detected using a reversed biased Si(Li), LN2 cooled semiconductor detector. The response is non-linear to varying energies, so the data must be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, the calculation of the x-ray cross section must take into account the finite width of the sample and the detector; attenuation of the x-rays in the material; and the decay of Fe55. Theoretical
